What’s going on at Christ Church Anglican? 

Well, click here and find out!  Our calendar is online on the website, and is regularly updated with services, Bible studies, classes, and other events happening here at the church.  In addition, we’ve linked a liturgical calendar from an English church organization to help you keep track of the church year.

New and Updated Announcements:

      • Rector’s Forum: Please join us after the service this Sunday for our monthly Rector’s Forum for an overview of our mission work together.
      • Installation of Father Hutchens as Rector: Sunday, September 13th at 4pm Bishop Hewitt will officially institute Fr. Hutchens as the Rector of Christ Church Anglican. All are invited to attend!
        • We will also be: 
          • Licensing Austin Chestnut and Daniel Cannon as Lay Readers.
          • Dedicating and consecrating our new side-chapel area.
        • The live-stream for the installation will be located HERE.
      • Wednesday, September 16th at 11:30 at the church we will begin with the first Gospel, Mark. Question: What sets Mark apart from the other Gospels? Come see!
      • Islam from a Christian Viewpoint.  Is the Jesus of Islam the same one found in Christianity? Join us for a Saturday teaching from 10:30 – noon beginning on Saturday, September 26th for a five week overview of Islam. You don’t have to be a member of the church to attend this class, so please invite others who you think might be interested!
      • Live-stream updates:
        • Apologies to those who “tuned in” but weren’t able to watch the service on August 30th.  Our videographer had a sudden family medical emergency that morning and was called away to attend to a family member at the hospital.
        • Welcome to Tom Baker, who is joining the media team!  He’ll be running the live-stream with John going forward.
        • The following is the schedule of live-streams for the next few weeks (subject to change as needed):
          • We’ll be live-streaming this coming Sunday, September 6.
          • We hope to live-stream both the Sunday morning service and the installation service on September 13. Please see next week’s e-news for the final word on this.
            • Note: Sunday morning the 13th’s sermon probably will not be posted to the website until sometime Monday.
          • We will NOT be live-streaming on September 20, due to lack of a videographer for that day.
          • The live-stream will resume on Sunday, September 27.
        • Have you seen Christ Church Anglican’s new signs yet?  Two new signs have been installed along our street frontage.  One of those signs replaced our old sign on Fairway Drive, and there’s now a sign on the Aiken Road side as well.

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, give unto us the increase of faith, hope, and charity; and, that we may obtain that which thou dost promise, make us to love that which thou dost command; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

      • Sunday, September 13 – 10:30 AM, Fifteenth Sunday after Trinity, Holy Communion, followed by fellowship.
      • Sunday, September 13 – 4:00 PM, Bishop’s visit and installation of Father Hutchens as Rector

Other Announcements/Information:

Diocese of Kibungo updates:  Father Hutchens has written an update on the construction progress being made on the new cathedral for the Diocese of Kibungo.  Click here to read it.

In the meantime, please continue to be in prayer for the Anglican Church in Rwanda, particularly that God would move those in authority in Rwanda to re-open a number of churches that have been closed by the Rwandan government.

Previous Rector’s Forum:  On August 9 after the morning service, Father Hutchens held our first Rector’s Forum after the service, during which he outlined his vision for the church and some of his initiatives since accepting the call to be our Rector. Weekly parish office hours:
Here is our parish office schedule:

Monday – Priest’s Sabbath (day off)
Tuesday – Office open 10AM to 5PM
Thursday and Friday – Office open 9AM to 12 noon

Other times are available by appointment only.

If you ever experience an emergency or urgent situation that requires the presence of your priest – Father Hutchens expects, encourages and asks you to contact him immediately, day or night, any day of the week. Cards with his phone and email information are in the narthex – please take one and keep it with your personal “in case of emergency” information.

Mid-weekly service: We hold a mid-weekly Evening Prayer and healing service on Wednesday nights at 6:00 P.M.
